I am a music education philosopher. My scholarship blends creativity, ecology, and critique. I authored the books Eco-Literate Music Pedagogy, and, with Vince Bates, Music Lessons for a Living Planet: Ecomusicology for Young People, both published by Routledge. Through my blog at eco-literate.com I wrestle with ideas such as nature, sustainability, place, culture, God, race, gender, class, and beauty.
